Visit to School “Basis” in Kyiv

On April 28, 2025, Oleh Yermakov and Anton Ovcharenko, the co-founders of the Ukrainian Optical and Photonic Society, visited the School “Basis” in Kyiv to deliver lectures on recent advancements in optics and photonics. Tymofii Shudra, one of the high-school student conducting research work under the supervision of Oleh Yermakov, has also presented his results, which were recently awarded at two international conferences for young scientists.

Oleh Yermakov shared his experience working with highly motivated high-school students: “We have been consciously dedicating time to the scientific mentoring of high-school students. It is an important activity of the Ukrainian Optical and Photonic Society aimed to support next generation of specialists. Some cases of our interactions with high-schools have become real success stories, and Tymofii has raised the bar even higher. It was a great pleasure to meet the high-school students and speak with theis physics and chemistry teachers."
