First journal article with acknowledgement to our Society

On April 29, 2025, the article by Oleh Yermakov and Anton Ovcharenko, the co-founders of the Ukrainian Optical and Photonic Society, was published in the Advanced Photonics Nexus journal. It is the first scientific publication recognizing the support by the Ukrainian Optical and Photonic Society.

The article investigates the anti-reflective coating for solar cell developed by combining forward and inverse (machine-learning-based) design techniques. The proposed single-layer meta-structure sharply reduces sunlight reflection across a wide range of wavelengths and angles outperforming all other analogues. The international society for optics and photonics SPIE published news about this work.
